Passage
Ecclesiastes 3:22 – “There is nothing better than that a man should rejoice in his work...”
Theme
Receiving Life as a Gift
After walking through injustice, death, and uncertainty, the conclusion might surprise us: rejoice. This is not a shallow or naïve response—it is deeply rooted in trust. When we stop trying to control life, we are finally free to receive it.
Joy is not found in having everything figured out. It is found in trusting God within what we do not understand. The simple gifts of life—relationships, work, daily provision—become meaningful when we see them as coming from God’s hand. We no longer postpone joy until life makes sense. Instead, we can experience it in the present moment.
This is the freedom Ecclesiastes points us toward. Not freedom from difficulty, but freedom from control. And ultimately, this freedom is made possible through Jesus. He entered our broken world, defeated sin and death, and secured our future. Because of Him, we can live with joy even in the tension.
Application Questions

- How can you stop postponing joy and begin living in it now?
